BridgeSync: automating SAP-AFAS integration for a national toll operator

Challenge

Satellic, the operator of Belgium's national truck-tolling system, ran finance on AFAS while a parent-group SAP instance held supplier and accounting data. Daily transfers between the two systems were manual: exports from SAP, cleanup in spreadsheets, re-imports into AFAS. The process was error-prone, slow, and left no audit trail. Finance needed reconciled figures across both systems without the daily plumbing.

Approach

We built BridgeSync, a custom integration middleware that automates the SAP-AFAS exchange end to end. A robust ETL pipeline extracts, transforms, and loads data every morning. The transformation layer aligns SAP legacy formats with AFAS's modern structure. Built-in validation and logging give finance full transparency and a rollback path on any failed record. The architecture is modular by design: additional integrations can be plugged in without re-engineering the core.
